In memoriam: Kyriacos Christodoulou
It is with great sadness that Lobby for Cyprus announces that Kyriacos Christodoulou, its founder and inspiration passed away on Friday 3 June 2011.

Kyriacos was diagnosed with terminal illness three years ago yet in typical fashion he defied all medical expectations and bravely struggled against his illness.

Kyriacos was a refugee who left the beautiful village of Ayios Amvrosios in the Kyrenia district of Cyprus, in 1974. He refused to visit his home whilst it was under occupation.

He brought to the Cyprus issue a monumental intellectual dimension that has been crucial to the debate on the Cyprus issue.

Kyriacos was determined, inspirational, passionate and politically very astute. He was also a wonderful father and friend. He leaves behind many who loved and respected him dearly. His death is a massive loss for his family, Cyprus, Ayios Amvrosios, the Greek Cypriot community and Lobby for Cyprus.

His struggle against ill health typifies his selfless struggle for Cyprus and renews Lobby’s determination to fight for his legacy, the wish to see Cyprus reunited and for the refugee’s to return to their homes.

Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends and colleagues.
