The following letter appeared in Odyssey magazine of Athens in March 2000 (Vol 7 No4 Mar/Apr 2000).

"In memory

"Unearthing the Truth," (Jauary/February 2000) by Michael Theodoulou did not mention the tragic death of an American citizen, Andreas Kasapis, who was not a soldier but just a visitor to Cyprus.

He was taken from his family and shot by two Turkish Cypriots, Kiufu Asmi and Jemali Batti.

They may never be brought before the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague to be judged for their crime, but the short life and the death of Kassapis, while holding his American passport, in Cyprus 1974, should always be remembered.

California, USA. "
