Spokesman sees no change in Denktash's policy

Nicosia, Apr 29 (CNA) - Cypriot Government Spokesman Kypros Chrisostomides said today that there does not seem to be a change in the policy of Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash on the Cyprus problem, because Denktash appears to insist on the continuous upgrading of the illegal occupation regime he set up in Turkish occupied Cyprus.

Chrisostomides said that the policy of Rauf Denktash and his son, Serdar, ''does not seem to have been altered or changed'', adding that ''what they insist on is the continuous upgrading of the occupation regime and their fundamental positions for separate sovereignty, borders and the exploitation of the arrangements made in the meantime, such as showing passports and issuing 'visas' and the continuous effort to reduce the negative impressions from their intransigent stance so far'' in the peace effort.
