The "No" of Annan
"The final plan is far off democratic values and the acquis communautaire; from which Turkey now request permanent derogations, in order to establish a purely Turkish state in the Northern part of Cyprus that would control the Southern part"

The process of solving the Cyprus problem enters the final stage. In 48 hours the final draft regarding the settlement of the long lasting problem will be ready and based on the “Annan Plan 3”. The final plan is far off democratic values and the acquis communautaire; from which Turkey now request permanent derogations, in order to establish a purely Turkish state in the Northern part of Cyprus that would control the Southern part.

The Turk Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul was explicit: “Without permanent derogations from the acquis communautaire, there could be no solution to the Cyprus problem”. Athens and the Greek Cypriot side state they would not discuss the self-evident. They do not accept permanent derogations from the acquis communautaire.

So, the question is: How could both sides reach an agreement in the next 48 hours, when the one looks towards the West and the other towards the East? When, apart from derogations from the acquis communautaire, there is no progress in security and guarantees between Greece and Turkey? How could they arrive at a compromise of views at no time, when philosophy and balances in the Annan Plans, which is rejected by the majority of the people, could not be reversed? By using alchemy perhaps? Or by using witchcraft? On the basis of which reasoning would they build a modern state, when Mr. Annan and Mr. De Soto cover up and accept illegal actions? On injustice maybe? Would they legalize the outcome of the crime, thus would they legalize settlers?

The UN Secretary General disagrees with President Papadopoulos. He thinks that referendum should be conducted in the occupied part of Cyprus using the voting registers of the pseudo-state. Therefore, people enlisted in them have the right to vote in the referendum. Thus, settlers will decide for us and for the Turkish Cypriots. They are the sovereign people of the Northern part of Cyprus. They do so using the laws of the pseudo-state, which according to Security Council resolutions is non “valid”.

Mr. Annan is made leader of an effort that aims at legalizing injustice, illegality, invasion and occupation. The way of his actions is reflected in the antidemocratic character and the philosophy of the solution he proposes. As he himself says, the character and the philosophy are not going to change. Therefore, since they would not change, how could an antidemocratic solution be viable? Thus, it is evident that Mr. Annan leads Cypriots with his stance to say “no”. It is the only choice he is giving them in order to protect and save their state, to save and protect justice and democracy."
